WHERE I WAS: VERONA

Verona is one of those cities that feels effortlessly livable: cobblestone streets that are easy to wander without an agenda, Roman and medieval history intertwined with unique shops, and along the way exceptional comfort food laden with cheese, butter and Amarone wine.
Conveniently located about halfway between the Venice and Milan airports, Verona is the ideal stop for an open-jaw itinerary: fly into one, out of the other with a heady pit stop in between in the Dolomites as we did. Just there for two days but we left enriched!
