WHO I FILMED: ROMA NORTE, MEXICO CITY

Susana Ordovas

Susana and I crossed virtual paths when I rented her apartment in Madrid years ago! We then stayed in touch, admirers of the other’s work (she’s both a gifted designer and a lauded journalist) until finally I was able to meet her in person at her amazing home in CDMX. What a colorful treat: you see the influences of her going to school in Ireland everywhere.

Mike Diaz

I was also led to decorative artist Mike Diaz’s dwelling via social media. He kindly agree to open his doors despite having just landed off a plane the night before.

He said there wouldn’t be much to see but I knew from his esteemed reputation within the worldwide design community that his space would be worth the visit:

Andrew Fisher

I met jewelry designer Andrew Fisher when Stacey and I filmed him and his partner Jeffrey Weisman at their extraordinary retreat in San Miguel de Allende. Watch our Quintessence video here.

Knowing that he had a recent renovated apartment in CDMX I invited myself over and he kindly threw me a cocktail gathering for the occasion.

His bathroom is one of the most theatrical you could ever see and echoed the one we filmed with its tiered copper lighting fixture suspended from the ceiling that also functions as the tub filler, so water actually descends from above into a freestanding copper bathtub!
