The perfect pour of form and function

I walked into Cocol in Madrid at the urging of Pablo Lopez Navarro and Inigo Aragon, partners of Casa Josephine, whose apartment I had just been shooting for Quintessence earlier that morning. En route to their design studio, we popped into Cocol, one of their favorite haunts, which is located in an old upholstery shed and sports a cheerful blue wooden facade.

Offering an artisanal range of home goods sourced from traditional artisans around Spain, its charismatic owner Pepa Entrena, proudly showed me her finds. “I devote myself to looking for the last guardians of the trades,” she explained.

I immediately adored this water pitcher, which Pablo and Inigo sneakily bought for me and tucked in my bag. Once I brought it home, I never stopped filling it with flowers or water.

Pepa and I then collaborated with one of her favorite artisans to create our own custom pattern for my shop! They have inherited a long tradition in two of the most recognized ceramic centers in two villages in Toledo, Spain.

I think it's an ideal way to bring history and personality to the table.
